UBUHLEBEZWE CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN

UBUHLEBEZWE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY EXCELLS IN SERVICE DELIVERY

On the 24th of February 2015, Ubuhlebezwe Municipal Manager Mr G. Sineke and ward 4 Cllr S.C Shezi went to visit the Dlamini homestead in the deep rural area of Hlanzeni, the community had come in their numbers to witness such an amazing event, having electricity installed in their area.

“This is something that I never thought would happen in my life time or that of my children for that matter I am speechless I would like to thank the Municipality and the ward Councillor for timeless delivery of the needs of the community we asked for roads, water tanks, toilets,  electricity and we got it said Mr Dlamini,”

Mr Sibongiseni Dlamini son of Mr Dlamini also expressed his happiness as he now longer has to travel to town to charge his cellular phone at a cost of R20 daily “now I’m going to be available on my cellular phone all the time and I’m going to save a lot of money on bus fare and money to charge my phone I’m so over joyed”

This project to install electricity in the deep rural areas using solar panels, as opposed to the conventional electricity,  will cover 500 (Five Hundred) households within a space of 2 (Two) months. It has already employed 20 (Twenty) members of the community.

The beauty of solar power is that it uses the heat of the sun to charge itself so you never have to purchase an electricity token. It can power a fridge, television set, charge cellular phones and light up 6 (six) rooms.
